To Be Faithful Servants Walking God's Talk
Reconciliation
The grace of God is always available, even when one turns away from Him. The Sacrament of Reconciliation, as with all the sacraments, is a concrete expression of God’s basic attitude towards His people: love.
We have the opportunity to experience God's healing power through the sacrament of Reconciliation each Saturday from 4:00 - 4:45 pm, on the First Friday of each month from 6:30 - 7:15 pm, during a special celebration in Advent and Lent, or by appointment.
When individuals exercise their freedom to recognize their shortcomings and reconcile themselves with God, once again they return to His grace. This prepares them to approach the table of the Lord, receive the Eucharist and be in communion with Him and the entire faith community.
A valuable exercise to ready oneself to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation is to reflect upon an examination of conscience. Looking at the ripple effect of our life leads to sorrow (contrition) for the damage (sin – breakdown of community) we have caused. We name the damage and take responsibility for it (confession).
