Liturgical music today allows the congregation and community to participate actively in the liturgy, relating to both the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist; these are the two main parts to the Catholic liturgy.
Vibrant and diverse music has been an integral part of the Liturgy at St. Patrick’s Parish for many years, with hundreds of volunteers from our community actively participating and making it great! We continue to grow, and hope that you would consider joining in – come out and give it a try! Experience the joy of working together with other parishioners, bringing music and inspiration to our Masses and celebrations.

Ephesians 5:19 says, “singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart.” It is to him and about him that we sing! Singing has such a unique way of bringing your heart, soul, mind, and strength together to focus entirely and completely on God.

The St. Patrick’s Parish Choir is an SATB choir with 25 active members. Established in 1979, the Parish Choir sings at 9:30 a.m. Sunday Mass, which features more traditional hymns and church music. This choir’s repertoire includes choral music from various genres and musical periods. Anthems are sung a capella or with accompaniment, provided on the piano or organ.
The choir rehearses from September through May, on Thursday evenings, from 7:30-9:00 p.m. The ability to read music is not a requirement and no audition is necessary; members are united in their desire to learn and to grow – both musically and spiritually.
Choristers are a dedicated group of amateurs, committed to enhancing the worship experience at St. Patrick’s through song while expanding their musical horizons through fellowship and the shared enjoyment of music. All are welcome!

The St. Patrick’s Parish Children’s Choir was started in the fall of 2012. Ten years later, many of those early choristers continue to sing and are active members of the 9:30 a.m. SATB Parish Choir. This is evidence that encouraging and nurturing a child’s early love of singing, and fostering its development through participating in mass, establishes the foundation of a lifelong love of music and an appreciation for its important role in the liturgy.
The Parish Children’s Choir sings at the 12:30 p.m. mass on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. Registration is open to children in grades one through eight. Weekly rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons, from 1:45-2:45 p.m., immediately following 12:30 p.m. Mass.
If you are interested in enrolling your child in the St. Patrick’s Parish Children’s Choir, please contact Mahendran Gnanapragasam at:
mgnanapr@gmail.com for more information. No audition is required! All children in grades one to eight are welcome.
We hope you will join us and we look forward to meeting you!

The Fidelis Choir or the Faithful Choir has been singing at funerals at St. Patrick’s since 1979. Since death occurs without warning, members of the Fidelis Choir are often called upon to sing at a funeral with only one or two days’ notice. However, during this difficult time of grief, these loyal and faithful choristers are present and ready to bring solace and peace with their music. The Fidelis Choir is a vital ministry, that supports the family of the deceased as they celebrate mass and mourn the loss of their loved one. New members are always welcome!
